Direct to Film (DTF) printing provides full‑colour transfers suitable for a wide range of garments. This method is ideal for detailed artwork, gradients and small production runs. Transfers are applied to garments as part of a completed order.
Suitable for individuals, businesses, clubs and community groups.
What DTF Is
DTF is a heat‑applied transfer process that allows for high‑detail, full‑colour prints on most fabric types. Designs are printed onto a specialist film, coated with adhesive powder and cured before application.
This makes it suitable for artwork that is not practical for embroidery, including complex logos, photographs and fine detail.
When to Choose DTF
DTF is suitable when:
- your design includes gradients, photographs or small text
- you require short runs or one‑off prints
- the garment is lightweight or unsuitable for embroidery
- you need consistent colour reproduction across multiple items
Embroidery is suitable when:
- you want a traditional, textured finish
- the design is simple and solid
- the garment is thicker or premium
- long‑term durability is the priority
Garment Options
DTF transfers can be applied to a wide range of garments including T‑shirts, hoodies, sportswear and lightweight fabrics. You can browse suitable garments in our Full Collection section.
